The present study was carried out in the mangrove forests that make up Punta Morales, Chomes, Puntarenas, between the months of October 1999 and February 2000, with parodic visits every 15 days each. The objective was to determine the organization (composition, structure and architecture) of a mangrove forest in the Central Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, to know its requirements and propose alternatives for recovery, conservation and protection. The Mangrove of Punta Morales is located within the mangroves of the North Pacific of Costa Rica that are characterized by being areas with a water regime and environmental conditions that are not very conducive to the optimal development of these systems, so their structural development is assumed to be reduced. The sampling points are located in the Rocky Zone, Playa Blanca and Estero Morales, in each of these areas three 20x20m plots were randomly established, for a total of nine plots. Each plot at the same time was subdivided into four subplots (10x10m) to determine the frequency of each individual per species. A total of 3600m2 were sampled, finding six species distributed in four families, namely Rhizophora mangle and Rhizophora racemosa (Rhizophoraceae), Laguncularia racemosa and Conocarpus erectus (Combretacea), Avicennia germinans (Avicenniacea) and Pelliciera rhizophoorae (Pelleceriaceae).
