Utilización de tres estrategias para el desarrollo de competencias en el ámbito universitario: Elevator pitch, debates con asignación de roles y talleres

Resumen
El desarrollo de competencias es una tarea permanente en la labor docente. En este documento, se comparte la experiencia acumulada con la aplicación de tres estrategias utilizadas para lograr este objetivo, así como el desarrollo integral de la persona en el ámbito universitario. Estas actividades se ejecutaron durante el periodo lectivo de 2019 y primer semestre 2020, por personas docentes de la Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica (UNA).
A partir de los resultados obtenidos con la aplicación de las siguientes estrategias: Elevator pitch, que consiste en exposiciones cortas de 2 a 3 minutos de duración, que se preparan con base en una conferencia seleccionada por la persona estudiante, Debates con asignación de roles, en los cuales deben defender la posición que se les ha sido asignada a partir de un contenido de elección del estudiantado, y Talleres, los cuales con base en la lectura de un libro, se fomenta el autoaprendizaje de las personas generando un proceso de elaboración de materiales educativos por medio de los cuales transmiten el conocimiento adquirido.
En estas actividades participan estudiantes inscritos en carreras de las áreas de Ciencias Sociales, Letras, y Ciencias Exactas y Naturales. Con base en los resultados de estas actividades se elabora una sistematización de experiencias, en las cuales se detallan las acciones que ejecuta el estudiantado y las tareas que realizan las personas docentes en el proceso.
The development of competencies is a permanent task in teaching practice. This document shares the accumulated experience with the application of three strategies used to achieve this objective, as well as the comprehensive development of the individual in the university setting. These activities were carried out during the 2019 academic year and the first semester of 2020 by faculty members of the National University of Costa Rica (UNA). Based on the results obtained from the implementation of the following strategies: Elevator pitch, which consists of short presentations lasting 2 to 3 minutes prepared on the basis of a conference selected by the student; Debates with assigned roles, in which participants must defend the position assigned to them based on content chosen by the students; and Workshops, which, through the reading of a book, foster self-learning by generating a process of creating educational materials through which students convey the knowledge they have acquired. Students enrolled in degree programs in the areas of Social Sciences, Humanities, and Natural and Exact Sciences participated in these activities. Based on the results of these activities, a systematization of experiences was prepared, detailing the actions carried out by the students and the tasks performed by faculty members in the process.
