Resumen
Este artículo analiza la formación del concepto "Revolución Verde” con el fin de identificar las acepciones que ha tenido el término, así como las distintas periodizaciones en que se ha utilizado. Comienza con identificar los diversos significados del concepto "Revolución Verde" disponibles en la literatura. La segunda parte evalúa trabajos académicos que utilizan dicho término para referirse a procesos agrarios en el siglo XIX e inicios del siglo XX. La última parte analiza las obras Campañas contra el hambre, de Elvin C. Stakman (et al), así como Desarrollo Agrícola:Una perspectiva internacional, de Yujiro Hayami y Vernon Ruttan, como ejemplos de la literatura fundacional y mítica de la Revolución Verde.
This article analyses the concept "Green Revolution" in order to identify its meanings as well as the different historical time periods to which it has been applied. It begins identifying the diverse significances attached to the term "Green Revolution" available in the literature. The second part evaluates academic works using the term in connection with agrarian processes in the Nineteenth-Century and early Twentieth Century. The last section analyses Campaigns Against Hunger by Elvin C. Stakman (et al), as well as Agricultural Development: An International Perspective by Yujiro Hayami and Vernon Ruttan, as examples of the foundational and mythic literature about the Green Revolution.
