In the 1990s, there was the The emergence of the education crisis Costa Rican. His signs were coming feeling from previous years, but appeared subsumed in other problems, occasionally of greater weight, and because So much so, they tended to be marginalized for the time being, until they crystallized into a critical situation. In the forums, seminars or workshops on related subjects, in the university corridors or in the journalistic notes raised the concern relating to certain disabilities of reasoning (mathematical, verbal, etc.), from students of high school and college freshmen (Méndez, Z. et al. 1993; Pérez, D. and Hidalgo, M. 1987; Pérez, D. 1988). The Piagetian theory constituted the theoretical-methodological axis that it evidenced, through research, these shortcomings.
