This book is a multidisciplinary effort to bring together diverse visions and approaches to territory, a cross-cutting theme in the social sciences. The analysis of territory is so broad that it can be approached from parallel, complementary, or even opposing points of view, not only in terms of theoretical premises, but also in terms of the methods used. The conclusions reached are often diverse and distant, depending on the respective tradition or approach to study. Despite its cross-cutting nature, territory is also affected by the prism paradox: although it is an inevitable reality for any social process, the angle and perspective of analysis will significantly modify the results and conclusions, while also differentiating between the subjects of knowledge. With this reality as a backdrop, this work seeks to promote multi- and interdisciplinary research and reflection from the social sciences as a means of addressing complex problems specific to the territory in a holistic manner.
