Environmental Education is an important tool in the protection of water resources, which allows water users to be involved in its management. This research, specifically, aimed to provide the Aqueduct Administrator Association (ASADA) of Santiago de Palmares with an Educational Program to improve the local management of the resource. For this, a participatory environmental diagnosis was carried out in the district, with which the necessary description was generated to design a proposal for an Environmental Education Program (PEA) for this community. Among the environmental problems identified is the contamination of bodies of water, the inadequate management of solid waste, deforestation and the lack of environmental awareness; all these potential threats to water resources. The proposed PEA consists of four modules: (1) knowing the ASADA of Santiago, (2) valuation and protection of water resources, (3) let's protect water resources from contamination and (4) Peña Bruja Environmental Reserve (RAPB); containing 10 activities aimed at target audiences such as children, youth and adults. The proposal was evaluated by experts and four of the activities were implemented as part of this evaluation. In this case, the participatory diagnosis was used since it offers the possibility of knowing in depth the needs and problems of a community in such a way that they generate basic information to offer management proposals. The implementation of the proposed PEA will generate a positive change towards water conservation and although it does not directly involve the entire community, it allows the participants to share their learning with people. No program can ensure the immediate solution of the environmental problems that affect a community, however, any educational intervention helps to prepare the way to achieve it.
