Humanism is in decline, even in universities that claim to have a humanistic philosophy, and particularly in the school responsible for the humanities. This article highlights the inconsistencies of humanists who believe that the problem with the humanities and humanism lies elsewhere than with their own promoters and advocates. Hopefully, it will serve to make us rethink ourselves as subjects who are academically and ethically responsible for the construction of others, the world, and ourselves.
