Resumen
La selección y adquisición de publicaciones periódicas (P.P), constituye una de las funciones más importantes de la biblioteca. Una selección efectiva debe basarse en un conocimiento real de las necesidades de los usuarios, del fondo bibliográfico existente y de la capacidad que tenga la institución, para adquirir material que satisfaga las necesidades de información.
The selection and acquisition of periodicals is one of the library's most important functions. Effective selection must be based on a thorough understanding of users' needs, the existing collection, and the institution's capacity to acquire materials that meet those information requirements.
