In this document blood’s haematology and biochemistry reference values for a wild adult female green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas) population that come to spawn in Tortuguero National Park’s nesting beaches (Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast), have been established. The blood samples of 100 seemingly healthy subjects were collected between the months of July and October, 2004. The average, maximum and minimum values, standard deviation, variation quotient, median and mode were calculated for 9 haemathogical parameters and for 21 evaluated serine metabolites. Seven kinds of blood cells (erythrocytes, heterophiles, eosinophiles, basophiles, lymphocytes and thrombocytes) are identified and morphologically described. Both the description and the results of blood’s haematology and biochemistry were compared with similar studies from other countries.
