Este excepcional cantón sobresale por contar con una alta visitación a los establecimientos fronterizos entre Costa Rica y Panamá, específicamente en el área de Paso Canoas. Pero no sólo eso, esconde una gran riqueza donde te puedes dar el privilegio de conocer y descubrir un poquito más de la naturaleza de nuestro país con hermosas aves y vegetación; además, de la aventura que se puede experimentar y con un gran legado cultural que remarca fuertemente la belleza de su gente y sus arraigadas raíces. En efecto, la tierra tiene una memoria intacta que perdura por décadas; en la época precolombina, este territorio estuvo habitado por indígenas del llamado grupo de los bruncas. Actualmente, tienes la oportunidad de conocer territorios indígenas donde se concentra y se conserva su forma de vida, además de su gente honesta y amigable, no tengas la menor duda que te recibirán con los brazos abiertos mientras exploras las riquezas en patrimonio, histórico y cultural que resguardan.
