Educación ambiental en el Refugio Nacional de Vida Silvestre Mata Redonda: una propuesta desde la extensión universitaria

Resumen
Este artículo presenta el trabajo de educación ambiental que se realiza con la comunidad de Rosario de Nicoya, inserta en el Refugio Nacional de Vida Silvestre Mata Redonda (RNVSMR), un ecosistema de humedal ubicado en la cuenca baja del Río Tempisque (CBT). El accionar se realiza en el marco del proyecto interinstitucional “Desarrollo de un modelo de gestión local integral con las poblaciones de los humedales de la cuenca baja del Río Tempisque” (en corto HURITE), financiado por el Consejo Nacional de Rectores (CONARE). El mismo, es una iniciativa interdisciplinaria en la que trabaja un equipo de profesionales y estudiantes de la Universidad Nacional, de la Universidad de Costa Rica, de la Comisión Nacional de Gestión del Riesgo y Atención de Emergencias (CNE) y del Sistema Nacional de Áreas de Conservación (SINAC).
This article presents the environmental education work carried out with the community of Rosario de Nicoya, located in the Mata Redonda National Wildlife Refuge (RNVSMR), a wetland ecosystem located in the lower basin of the Tempisque River (CBT). The action is carried out within the framework of the inter-institutional project "Development of an integrated local management model with the wetland populations of the lower basin of the Tempisque River" (in short HURITE), financed by the National Council of Rectors (CONARE). This is an interdisciplinary initiative in which a team of professionals and students from the National University, the University of Costa Rica, the National Commission for Risk Management and Emergency Attention (CNE) and the National System of Conservation Areas (SINAC) are working together.
