This graduation project addresses, as a main topic, a proposal to include the educational legal framework in the training of Science Teaching teachers. Our experience in the educational field shows weaknesses in terms of knowledge in educational legal matters provided by higher education institutions in charge of the Science Teaching career. 300 teachers from the area of Sciences, from the regional offices of Desamparados, San José, Heredia and Alajuela, who were working in educational centers of different modalities (public, subsidized private, private, scientific, technical and academic) collaborated in the investigation. in 2007. To carry out the research, a questionnaire of 30 questions (open and closed) was applied to teachers in the Science area, in order to explore the degree of knowledge in legal matters and other data of interest. In the first place, bibliographic information was collected on educational policies, training of secondary school educators in Costa Rica, curricular pedagogical base, teacher profile and legal training of teachers. The instrument was then applied. Subsequently -with the data obtained- we proceeded to analyze the data, using the statistical package SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solutions), which provides frequencies of the questions asked. After obtaining these calculations, the graphs and tables were made and, in addition, correlations were established. As a next step, the level of information provided in the curricula regarding the legal educational environment and incorporation into the workplace of the Science Teaching career, taught by state and private universities recognized by the National Council of Rectors, was compared. (CONARE) and the National Council for Private University Higher Education (CONESUP).
