Estrategias pedagógicas que promueven el hábito de la lectura y su relación con el pensamiento crítico en los estudiantes de décimo año del Colegio Técnico Artístico Felipe Pérez, Liberia, Guanacaste, 2019

Resumen
La presente investigación, se desarrolló en el Colegio Artístico de Liberia ubicada en la primera etapa de la Urbanización Felipe Pérez, situada en la ciudad de Liberia, Guanacaste durante los cursos lectivos 2018 y 2019.
El estudio consistió en determinar las Estrategias Pedagógicas utilizadas por los docentes para estimular el hábito de la lectura en los y las estudiantes de décimo año, establecer la relación existente entre el hábito de lectura y el pensamiento crítico, reconocer la importancia del hábito de lectura en el mejoramiento del rendimiento académico y con base en todo lo anterior, diseñar una propuesta metodológica para fomentar el hábito de la lectura.
La propuesta metodológica a su vez consistió en implementar doce talleres: diez, dirigidos a los estudiantes y 2 a los docentes del área de Español y de Inglés.
Entre las conclusiones más relevantes del estudio se obtiene que: el área de Español precisa la implementación de estrategias menos tradicionales y más centradas en el estudiante, más de la mitad de los estudiantes de décimo año del Colegio Artístico durante el curso lectivo 2019 leían a pesar que los profesores de Español aseguraban que no, pero ellos y ellas lo hacen por diferentes razones y en diferentes asignaturas: Inglés, Historia del arte, Estudios Sociales, Educación Cívica y Teatro. Por último, el centro educativo cuenta con una biblioteca, la cual carece de dinamismo y atractivo para que realmente sea un espacio que promueva la lectura
This investigation was developed during 2018 and 2019 in the Artistic High School of Liberia, which is a public institution located in urbanization Felipe Perez, Liberia city, province of Guanacaste, Costa Rica. This study was conducted to determine if the pedagogical strategies applied by teachers in their classes promote in their tenth grade students the habit of reading and critical thinking, establish the relationship between the habit of reading and the critical thinking, recognize the importance that the habit of reading has in the improvement of academic performance and based on these findings; design a methodical proposal on reading habit promotion. The methodical proposal was developed into twelve workshops: ten designed to students and two designed to English and Spanish teachers. Among the main conclusions of this study, the authors found that Spanish department is requires the implementation of strategies less traditional and more student centered, over fifty percent of students in tenth grade of the Artistic High School reads but they read for different purposes and in different classes such as English, History of Art, Social Studies, Civic and theater in opposition to what Spanish teachers has stated about it. Finally, the institution has a library but it is not being dynamic or attractive, it is not a space that really promotes Reading
