In animals less than one year old, respiratory (n=20) and gastrointestinal (n=15) diseases were treated, as well as cases of the musculoskeletal system (n=5), mineral deficiencies (n=3), among others. Subsequently, an internship was carried between July 4 to August 2, 2023, in specialized dairy farms in Costa Rica, in the areas of Los Cartagos, Vara Blanca and Poasito, with the advised of Dr. Frank Hueckmann Voss, for a total of 193 hours. During this internship, I had the opportunity to participate in the following activities: reproductive diagnoses by rectal palpation (n=238), hoof health (n=71), calves rearing (n=87), internal medicine (n=44), udder health (n =55), deworming (n=172), vaccinations (n=192), inseminations (n=48), euthanasia (n=1), necropsy (n=2) and abortion’s medical aid (n=2). Both internships reinforced and broaden the theoretical and practical knowledge acquired during the degree program in Veterinary Medicine at the School of Veterinary Medicine of the National University (EMV-UNA), for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases in bovine patients.
