Resumen
En esta investigación se describen y analizan aspectos que se consideran
significativos de la función de lo monstruoso en textos de la literatura costarricense se postula
como una construcción cultural modificada por cuestionamientos éticos y sociales
relacionados con el concepto de maldad. Por tanto, el fenómeno se estudia teniendo en mente,
los avances conceptuales de los denominados en la actualidad como Estudios Culturales,
puesto que mediante la interpretación y el análisis de estos textos se considera el monstruo
como un sujeto que se opone a lo normativo. Para ello, se toman como corpus El diablo en
el cielo (1910), libro de poemas de Eduardo Calsamiglia, las novelas Paola: novelina
espiritista (1922) de Jaime Gálvez y Atlante (1924) de Moisés Vincenzi. Se apunta a
contrastar el discurso canónico con el que no lo es, para interpretar la introducción del
monstruo a la literatura nacional. Se realiza un recorrido de la funcionalidad de lo monstruoso
en textos de la década de 1910 y 1930, seguido de su relación con la maldad en los textos
elegidos
This research describes and analyzes aspects considered significant of the function of the monstrous in Costa Rican literary texts, which is postulated as a cultural construction modified by ethical and social questions related to the concept of evil. related to the concept of evil.
