These pages are far from doing justice to García Monge, in terms of his contribution to the knowledge and dissemination of Marti's ideology among the Americans and particularly among men and women of his country, in the first sixty years of this century. These lines are possible, because it will be necessary to remember it, Don Joaquín García made efforts to divulge the importance of José Martí in the American conscience. Part of that work are the master pages he dedicated to Martí: "Martí in Costa Rica" and "A friend of children" (García Monge, 1942: 60 - 64 and 1953: 151). Nor could we avoid countless annotations that he made and that are scattered throughout his written work, in his speeches, lectures, propaganda and educational work.
