Abstract. The second place in Central America in the production of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) is Costa Rica, although the country is at the forefront at the regulatory level and in certified recycling facilities. In this research we are interested in exploring the management of WEEE in people with high digital culture. For this purpose, an online survey was carried out in a Facebook group made up of people with interests related to various areas of computing. The results show that professional recycling is the main means of disposal of WEEE (36.4%), that recycling campaigns are the main incentive to participate in WEEE recycling (69.9%) and that the majority only acquires new electronic devices in the moment when the previous one breaks down (83.2%).
