necesaria para realizar toma de biopsia renal y vesical, para su estudio histopatológico;
cuantitativo
The internship was performed at the Hospital de Especies Menores y Silvestres (HEMS), of Veterinary Medicine at the Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica. The internship lasted eight weeks from March 5th to May 5th , 2014. During that period we made 163 surgical procedures in the areas of orthopedic, neurosurgery, and soft tissue; the latter being the area where most of these surgical procedures fell under. Among the most commonly occurring procedures we highlight those of the integumentary, reproductive and digestive systems. In the interest of spreading the knowledge gathered during the internship, we present a clinical case study about the urinary system in which two surgical interventions where required to treat and correct the pathologies of the patient. Those two surgeries were urethrostomy and laparotomy. The latter was necessary for making a kidney and bladder biopsy for a histopathological study. Additionally, we performed a cystostomy and ureterostomy to extract utoriths and perform its corresponding quantitative analysis
