Resumen
El quehacer de La Universidad Nacional durante sus primeros años estuvo enfocado en consolidar el ideal de ser la universidad necesaria. Aunque todavía sus acciones no contemplaban iniciativas en torno a las personas adultas mayores.
Incluso en su reseña histórica que se presenta en la página de transparencia de la UNA, se mencionan una serie de hechos significativos de ese devenir, pero se omite mencionar la creación del Programa de Atención Integral de la Persona Adulta Mayor.
Fue alrededor de la década de los años 90, cuando un grupo de profesionales nos planteamos la importancia de acercarnos a poblaciones que etariamente estaban excluidas y discriminadas.
