mayores.
The objective of this research is to study the elements that configure the forms of violence experienced by older lesbian and gay adults in the Metropolitan Area of Costa Rica during the period 2021- 2022. The research topic is approached from the theoretical-methodological perspective of intersectionality. It seeks to identify these forms of violence from their life stories. This, in order to characterize and establish relationships between the elements that configure these forms of violence. Being excluded, discriminated and socially invisible people, because of their sexual orientation and their age, can lead to a potentiate intersection of vulnerability and violence in their daily lives. The theoretical argumentation and methodological perspective used is intersectionality, supported by gender theory, queer theory and sociology of aging. The triangulation of these theories allowed a better understanding of the social problem, as well as a better approach to the people participating in the research. The results of the research expose experiences of crossed violence, a typology of violence transcribed in realities of invisibilization of lesbian and gay older adults, discrimination in health centers and work spaces, exclusion and repression of their sexual identity in health centers and long-stay places, and, finally, a more marked violence in older lesbian women.
