Responsabilidad ambiental de la juventud costarricense: una posibilidad para garantizar el futuro

Abstract

La actual generación de jóvenes une a las generaciones anteriores (abuelos y padres) y a las generaciones que están por venir (hijos y nietos). Esta generación tiene una doble responsabilidad, ante su familia y país (ciudadanía) y ante el planeta (humanidad). Indicadores recientes demuestran que Costa Rica enfrenta serios desafíos ambientales. Ante este panorama, se mencionan aspectos de cómo la Universidad Nacional puede contribuir al liderazgo ambiental en los jóvenes costarricenses, para que estos tengan la posibilidad de garantizar el futuro del país.

The current generation of young joins previous generations (grandparents and parents) and the generations that are to come (children and grandchildren). This generation has a dual responsibility, to his family and country (citizenship) and to the world (humanity). Recent indicators show that Costa Rica faces serious environmental challenges. Against this background, it is mentioned aspects of how the National University can contribute to environmental leadership in young Costa Ricans, so that they have the opportunity to secure the country’s future.
