Resumen
Luego de seis años del deceso de Chavela Vargas, resulta imposible negar su notoriedad en el ámbito artístico, su transgresión a los roles femeninos de principios del siglo XX y su relación con artistas influyentes, todos aspectos que se han desarrollado en sus múltiples biografías; aun así, estudios que expliquen la evolución de la cantante como personaje dentro de un ámbito cultural mexicano son inexistentes. Este artículo permite rescatar los principales hitos en la vida de la artista y su mitificación como personaje artístico y cultural.
After six years of the physical death of Chavela Vargas, it is impossible to deny her notoriety in the artistic field, her transgression to female roles in the early XX century and her relationship with influential artists, aspects that have been developed in her biographies; even so, studies that explain the evolution of the singer as a character within a Mexican cultural sphere are nonexistent. This article allows to rescue the main milestones in her life and her mythification as an artistic and cultural character.
