Ciudades y espacios intermedios en América Central: desigualdades y retos futuros

Abstract

En este estudio, se examinan las formas particulares que adquieren las ciudades y otros núcleos semiurbanos ubicados en la periferia de América Central. Se trata de mostrar que hay singularidades operando en este territorio, al mismo tiempo que se producen procesos generales de globalización que responden a la excepcionalidad histórica en la configuración de todo espacio geográfico.This study examines the particular forms that cities and other semi-urban centers located on the periphery of Central America take. It is a matter of showing that there are singularities operating in this territory, at the same time that general processes of globalization are produced that respond to the historical exceptionality in the configuration of all geographical space.
