PERFIL SANITARIO DEL CERDO Asilvestrado (Sus scrofa) De La Isla Del COCO - COSTA RICA

Abstract

Tiene como propósito establecer cuáles son los principales agentes patógenos que pueden estar afectando a la población de cerdos ferales de la Isla del Coco y, con ello, establecer el primer perfil sanitario de esa población. La idea fundamental es dar a conocer este perfil sanitario a las autoridades respectivas y que a partir de ahí, se pueda tomar las decisiones más acertadas para el ecosistema de la isla y crear así una opción más en el control del problema de los cerdos ferales (vía uso de algún agente biológico o combinaciones de diferentes métodos de erradicación en que se tome en cuenta algún agente o agentes biológicos patógenos).

Its purpose is to establish which are the main pathogens that may be affecting the population of feral pigs on Cocos Island and, thus, to establish the first health profile of that population. The fundamental idea is to make this health profile known to the respective authorities so that from there, the best decisions can be made for the ecosystem of the island and thus create another option in the control of the problem of feral pigs (through the use of some biological agent or combinations of different eradication methods that take into account some pathogenic biological agent or agents).
