The literature consulted shows topics related to child safety in Costa Rica, the factors of insecurity in educational centers, the institutions in charge of child protection, as well as a description of the two communities investigated. It also attempts to interpret the meaning of the information provided by the subjects, since descriptive research goes beyond simple data collection. The methodological procedures used in carrying out the research work are noted, the population consisted of principals, teachers, students, parents, and members of the community in general to whom different questionnaires were applied. One of the conclusions obtained after having carried out this research work tells us that passivity is the main characteristic of these communities in the face of the situation experienced by the students in terms of child safety. The recommendations are directed to all the people involved in the development and application of this research.
