Estrategias para la competitividad territorial en el cantón de San Carlos, Alajuela Costa Rica

Abstract

La investigación surge ante el requerimiento de estudiar la competitividad territorial desde la geografía identificando el capital y sus activos, a partir de un enfoque de abordaje territorial; con el fin de jerarquizar la importancia de estos y así identificar cuáles son los que mayor impacto representan en la economía del cantón de San Carlos, Alajuela, Costa Rica. Esto debido a que dicho cantón a nivel regional se evidencia como el más competitivo, pero, a lo interno, no es capaz de ofrecerle igualdad de condiciones a sus habitantes. Una vez establecido lo anterior, se crean estrategias desde la gestión municipal, tomando como base los capitales y los activos que deben ser potencializados para que se transformen en ventajas competitivas, aportando a la planificación territorial y brindando así una mejor calidad de vida a la población.

The research arose from the need to study territorial competitiveness from the perspective of geography, identifying the capital and its assets from a territorial approach, in order to prioritize the importance of these assets and thus identify which ones have the greatest impact on the economy of the canton of San Carlos, Alajuela, Costa Rica. This is due to the fact that this canton is the most competitive at the regional level, but, internally, it is not able to offer equal conditions to its inhabitants to offer a level playing field to its inhabitants. Once this is established, strategies are created from the municipal management, taking as a basis the capitals and assets that must be potentiated to be transformed into competitive advantages, contributing to territorial planning and thus providing a better quality of life to the population.
