Two methodologies to prevent and control hypothermia in transsurgical processes where compared (thermal blanket and warm intravenous fluids), compared to a control group. Measurements of heart rate and transrectal temperature were performed every seven minutes, also times at the first bolus of anesthesia and the incorporation, since the study group was reduced by having to remove several patients by exclusion criteria the analysis was not statistical significant (P > 0.05). Nevertheless the analysis showed tendencies of the thermal blanket group where a more active metabolism was observed, also higher anesthetic requirements, slower temperature loss over time (despite having an abrupt initial fall due to a distribution effect), a higher heart rate and longer incorporation times compared with shorter times to the first anesthetic bolus
