Analyze the intervention process of Social Work professionals at the Escalante Pradilla Hospital, El Valle Penitentiary Center, and the Pérez Zeledón Courts of Justice in the care of adult victims and offenders of domestic violence in the canton of Pérez Zeledón, in 2004 and 2005. The main objective of this research was to reconstruct and analyze the intervention developed by Social Work professionals with adult victims and offenders of domestic violence in the aforementioned institutions, identifying the contribution of the profession as a response to the phenomenon within the framework of state policy in this field. The subjects of the research were the different social workers who work in the departments or areas that deal with the problem. The research was developed through an explanatory or analytical study, carrying out the correlation of categories of analysis that include elements of the macro, micro and meso environments of the programs investigated. Due to the characteristics of the type of study selected (explanatory or analytical) and the qualitative approach used, the methodological strategy of the research contemplated the development of a bibliographic and documentary review, as well as the application of instruments for the collection of information from key informants (semi-structured interview guides and work guides for the reconstruction of intervention processes). As a model of analysis, the triangulation of information provided by different sources was used: the subjects (professionals in charge of the development of the programs), the theoretical elements that support the research (theoretical framework) and documentary review. In this way, the influence of the management component in the professional intervention process was determined and the intra and inter-institutional relationships were characterized and analyzed, thus identifying the contribution of this intervention to the development of strategic actions promoted by the State in this area, and the contribution to the people affected to lead a life free of violence.es_ES
