Abstract

Entrevista al Dr. Carlos Marichal sobre sobre historia económica de América Latina. Estudia la historia de la Villa Imperial de Potosí en el siglo XVII sobre el comercio que entraba (alimentos, textiles, animales y mulas) y salía (plata) de la ciudad. Así como la historia económica de Argentina entre 1880 y 1940, período en que se globalizaba y abría al mundo. Estudios de casos con dimensión internacional para mirar en forma comparativa la historia económica y deuda externa de los países de América Latina y México. Señala que las principales tendencias en el debate de la historia económica de América Latina son el Período Colonial; la historia de la minería; la historia de las haciendas entre los siglos XV y XVIII; la historia general con énfasis en historia política y militar del siglo XIX. A partir de 1970 comienza a practicarse la historia política, económica y cultural. Indica que para los noventa, hay una gran proliferación de estudios, tanto nacionales como propios de América Latina, con tendencia hacia la especialización: historia económica, historia de la industria, historia agraria, historia del medio ambiente, historia política, historia fiscal, historia tecnológica, entre otras, con metodologías calitativas y cuantitativas.
