Rubiáceas arbóreas y arbustivas de la estación de biología tropical Río Macho, Orosí, Cartago

Abstract

En el presente estudio se identificaron las especies de la familia Rubiaceae en la Estación de Biología Tropical Río Macho y también se observaron algunos aspectos biológicos de éstas. Para efectuar esta investigación se delimitaron 4 transectos de 3 m. de ancho por 2,000 m. de largo, situados en los senderos principales de la Estación, se colectaron todas las especies arbóreas y arbustivas de la familia Rubiacee y se anotaron los períodos de floración y fructificación de cada una de ellas durante el año. Se identificó las muestra, se secaron, se montaron en cartulina y se depositaron en el Herbario Nacional de Costa Rica (CR), así como en los, Herbarios de la Escuela de Ciencias Biológicas y Ciencias Ambientales de la Universidad Nacional. Así mismo, se fijaron muestras frescas de hojas FAA, después se les aplicó el método de clarificación de órganos vegetales, que consiste en extracción de clorofila, deshidratación y tinción. Las láminas fijas preparadas se observaron al microscopio, para identificar tricomas de tipo unicelular y multicelular.

In the present study, the species of the Rubiaceae family were identified at the Río Macho Tropical Biology Station and some biological aspects of these were also observed. To carry out this investigation, 4 transects of 3 m were delimited. wide by 2,000 m. long, located on the main trails of the Station, all the arboreal and shrub species of the Rubiacee family were collected and the flowering and fruiting periods of each one of them during the year were noted. The samples were identified, dried, mounted on cardboard and deposited in the National Herbarium of Costa Rica (CR), as well as in the Herbariums of the School of Biological Sciences and Environmental Sciences of the National University. Likewise, fresh samples of FAA leaves were fixed, then the method of clarification of plant organs was applied, which consists of chlorophyll extraction, dehydration and staining. The fixed sheets prepared were observed under a microscope to identify unicellular and multicellular trichomes.
