Resumen
Hacia el Siglo XIX se experimentó el auge cafetalero, y con él transformaciones en las exportaciones que generan ingreso a la economía nacional y modernización del Estado, que se manifestó en el ámbito político, económico y social.
En el sector educativo el desarrollo y extensión de la educación hacia un mayor número de personas.
En 1847 se establece el primer Liceo de Niñas y en 1866 se unifican por primera vez los contenidos programáticos de la educación para ambos sexos.
