The object of this thesis is the poetry of Miguel Fajardo and his contributions to the literature of Guanacaste. The choice of the topic is based on two reasons: the main one is the convenience of studying the literature produced in other areas of Costa Rica that, as well as Guanacaste at this time, are producing manifestations that are not yet known because most anthological studies contemplate the literature produced in the Central Valley and not that of these other areas, as is the case of the literary productions of Guanacaste. The other reason is that Miguel Fajardo (Liberia, Guanacaste. 1956). Author of several books of poetry, commentator, essayist and compiler, he has stood out in the area as a person of great ideals and for his desire to make known that in Guanacaste poetry is made and not necessarily in the traditional style that sings the idealized Guanacaste, a theme associated with the Costa Rican modernist production that inherited the landscape, the descriptive and the autochthonous from manners and which here gain strength. It also contributes to raising the culture of an entire people that has been history and tradition over the years and that in this aspect is closely linked to the national. With him a cultural and literary opening of the area is marked because with the Literary Center of Guanacaste, a group of which he is deputy director, he has managed to make the province feel its presence inside and outside of Costa Rica, which brings as a consequence a current vision her. Fajardo's poetic production is little known nationally but internationally he participates as a commentator, compiler and poet; His works and writings have appeared in prestigious literary magazines in Spain, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Canada, etc.
