Práctica de la crítica: una crítica de la práctica y de la teoría de la traducción desde un texto "no literario" : traducción e informe de investigación

Abstract

El proyecto de graduación consta de la traducción al español del texto de teoría literaria Critical Practice*

(el cual aborda temas como el sentido común, la ideología, la subjetividad y el discurso, y la relación que estos conceptos tienen con el lenguaje y la literatura) y de una investigación con matices más teóricos que prácticos. La traducción está conformada por la sección introductoria del primer capítulo y por los capítulos segundo y tercero. Por otro lado, la investigación parte de bases teóricas “exclusivistas” y deconstruccionistas para abordar problemas relacionados con la autoría de los textos “no literarios” y con la función que cumple el traductor de tales textos durante el proceso de traducción. Los objetivos que se trazan son: traducir un texto considerado como “no literario” de una manera no tradicional, equiparar las funciones del traductor de textos “no literarios” con las funciones del autor de textos, y rebatir ciertos conceptos (creatividad, originalidad y autoría única) que tradicionalmente han sido utilizados tanto para crear divisiones entre los textos como para adjudicar la autoría de los textos y traducciones sólo a determinados individuos. En el desarrollo de la investigación, se muestran y analizan fragmentos del texto traducido que ejemplifican, primero, la utilización de técnicas y conceptos usualmente contemplados para traducir y analizar los llamados textos literarios, pero ahora para resaltar ideas fundamentales dentro de una traducción “no literaria”, y segundo, como ciertas características usualmente adjudicadas a los textos literarios pueden estar presentes en toda clase de textos. Se concluye la investigación con una reflexión sobre la influencia que ciertos conceptos han tenido sobre el campo de la traductología, de la práctica de la traducción y de la enseñanza de la traducción. En tal reflexión también se sugieren, a grandes rasgos, posibles vías para limitar o balancear tal influencia.The graduation project consists of the Spanish translation of the theory text Literary Critical Practice *

The objectives are: to translate a text considered as "no literary ”in a non-traditional way, equating the functions of the text translator "Non-literary" with the functions of the author of texts, and refute certain concepts (creativity, originality and unique authorship) that have traditionally been used both to create divisions between texts as to assign authorship of texts and translations only to certain individuals. In the development of the investigation, show and analyze fragments of the translated text that exemplify, first, the use of techniques and concepts usually contemplated to translate and analyze the called literary texts, but now to highlight fundamental ideas within a "non-literary" translation, and second, as certain characteristics usually attributed Literary texts can be present in all kinds of texts. The research with a reflection on the influence that certain concepts have had on the field of translactology, the practice of translation and the teaching of translation. Such reflection also suggests, broadly speaking, possible ways to limit or balance such influence.
