Clinical analyzes are part of the clinical pathology that includes the application of laboratory analyzes to medicine, they constitute a competitive tool that together with the clinical examination and the anamnesis, make up the trilogy for the solution of clinical problems. The importance of conducting research on these species lies in promoting an improvement in their health and conservation due to the limited data that is currently available. The type of study that was carried out was a descriptive cross-sectional study, there was a population of 32 turtles of the species Rhinoclemmys pulcherrima from two captivity centers (rescue and herpetological center). Standard laboratory techniques were used for leukocyte count, hematocrit and hemoglobin determination; in the blood smear, the differential leukocyte count and the description of the morphology of the cells found were performed. For the biochemical tests (total proteins, albumin, globulin, glucose, cholesterol, uric acid, urea nitrogen, calcium, phosphorus, AST, CK, chloride, sodium and potassium) a Spinreact equipment model Spin 200E was used. The ranges obtained are applicable in clinical medicine and the conservation of turtles, being the first data of hematology, serum biochemistry and cellular morphology of the painted wood turtle in captivity conditions that constitute a preliminary reference guide; however, extrinsic and intrinsic factors must be taken into consideration when assessing the health status of turtles.
