The internship was performed at two different locations, first at the Hospital de Especies Menores y Silvestres at the School of Veterinary Medicine on the National University of Costa Rica and then at Dover Veterinary Clinic located in Bogotá, Colombia between May 30 and October 1st of 2016. During the first two weeks on the HEMS the intern worked as an assistant for Dr. Karen Vega to improve surgical skills. The following 13 weeks the intern worked on the CVD, around 300 patients where attendend, including surgical and internal medicine cases. The only cases considered for documentation where the ones attendend over the CVD in wich a total of 282 cases of internal medicine and 60 of surgical resolution were considered. The following document describes all the activities performed during the internship, the data obtained on the different areas and additionally an in depth analysis on two cases that were brought to attention due to the new techniques and the applicability of the diagnostic and surgical technics in Costa Rica. The first one, a reintervention of a pulmonary lobectomy and diaphragmatic hernia correction, and the second one the diagnostic process and managing of a patient with an atipic case of osteoblastic osteosarcoma
