Resumen
El presente documento constituye el informe final de trabajo de graduación,
modalidad pasantía, realizada por la estudiante Jenny Madrigal Varela en el
Laboratorio de Virología de la Escuela de Medicina Veterinaria de la Universidad
Nacional, en el período comprendido entre el 16 de Julio y el 7 de Diciembre del
año 2012.
La pasantía se realizó con el objetivo de mejorar las destrezas y
habilidades de la pasante mediante la participación en la organización, ejecución
de procedimientos, interpretación de resultados e implementación de nuevos
protocolos del Laboratorio de Virología.
EL periodo se dividió en tres partes: la primera constó de una introducción
al laboratorio, la cual se basó en el conocimiento de su organización y
funcionamiento con especial atención a la recepción y protocolización de las
muestras; en la segunda parte se participó en la recepción y análisis de las
muestras conforme iban ingresando al laboratorio y en la tercera parte se
contribuyó con la implementación de protocolos de PCR establecidos por Frisk
(1999), Linssen et al. (2000) y Xie et al. (1997), para Distemper canino, Encefalitis
equina del Este y Reovirus aviar, respectivamente. Al final de la pasantía se logró
participar en un total de 2855 análisis
This document is the final report of a graduate work, internship modality by the student Jenny Madrigal Varela at the Laboratory of Virology, School of Veterinary Medicine of the National University in the period between 16 July and 7 December 2012. The internship was conducted with the aim to improve the skills and abilities of the student through participation in the organization, implementation of procedures, results interpretation and implementation of new protocols at the Virology Laboratory. The period was divided into three parts: the first consisted of an introduction to the laboratory, which was based on the knowledge of its organization and functioning with particular attention to the reception and logging of samples; in the second part the student took part in the reception and analysis of samples as they were entering the laboratory and in the third part she contributed to the implementation of PCR protocols established by Frisk (1999) Linssen et al. (2000) and Xie et al. (1997), for Canine Distemper, Eastern Equine Encephalitis and Avian Reovirus, respectively. At the end of the internship the student engaged in a total of 2855 analysis.
