The book analyzes the impacts of free trade, pesticides, and transgenic crops on agriculture in Latin America, highlighting the loss of food sovereignty and the transnational control of the agri-food sector. It examines the environmental and health effects associated with the use of agrochemicals and genetically modified organisms, as well as the limitations of international regulatory frameworks. Additionally, it presents agroecological alternatives and compiles proposals from peasant and Indigenous organizations aimed at promoting a sustainable agricultural model and public policies focused on protecting health, the environment, and the production of safe, healthy food.
