Tendon or ligament injuries are very common orthopedic diseases in long-lived living beings such as horses, which could represent millions of dollars in losses due to disability, convalescence and treatment. The good news is that tendon therapies for equines, through the application of regenerative cells, can already be performed at the School of Veterinary Medicine of the National University (UNA). Roberto Estrada, veterinarian and promoter of this technique, clarified that although there are promising therapies, more studies are currently being carried out to understand how they work and what measures should be taken, in order to optimize the use of regenerative therapies in the treatment of ligament injuries in horses.
