Abstract

El siguiente documento trata de brindar una idea general de la dinámica social y económica de la cuenca del río Grande de Térraba, con el objetivo de identificar y dar una caracterización de los principales factores que influyen en su dinámica. Igualmente, identifica actores claves y sus principales acciones en la cuenca. Este estudio forma parte de una investigación desarrollada por la Escuela de Relaciones Internacionales de la Universidad Nacional, en el marco del proyecto LiveDiverse: Sustainable Livelihoods and Biodiversity in Riparian Areas in Developing Countries, within the 7th Framework Programme Environment. Este proyecto es financiado por la European Comission y cuenta con la participación de ocho instituciones en igual número de países, siendo los estudios de caso, sin embargo, desarrollados en cuatro países: Costa Rica, Vietnam, Sudáfrica e India.
