Abstract

El artículo examina la historia y legado de la revista Repertorio Americano, publicada entre 1919 y 1958 bajo la dirección de Joaquín García Monge. Destaca su rol como espacio de difusión cultural e intelectual en América Latina, su producción artesanal sostenida por redes de impresores y colaboradores, y su impacto en la construcción de una conciencia hispanoamericana. Además, analiza las distintas rutas interpretativas de la revista, incluyendo críticas modernas que la acusan de elitismo o racismo, frente a visiones que la defienden como símbolo de libertad, pluralidad y resistencia cultural. El texto enfatiza la importancia de estudiar la revista en su contexto histórico y reconoce su valor como archivo de pensamiento latinoamericano del siglo XX.

The article examines the history and legacy of the magazine Repertorio Americano, published between 1919 and 1958 under the direction of Joaquín García Monge. It highlights its role as a space for cultural and intellectual dissemination in Latin America, its artisanal production sustained by networks of printers and collaborators, and its impact on the construction of a Hispano-American consciousness.
