Resumen
En este capítulo se hace un recorrido de los aportes de la Universidad Nacional, por medio de la Sede Regional Chorotega a la educación superior en Guanacaste. Parte de una visión histórica del desarrollo de la región y cómo la educación superior va aportando a aquellos sectores vulnerabilizados. Hay una relación simbiótica entre universidad-sociedad regional donde una se influye a la otra. En otras palabras, la universidad ha tratado de responder a las necesidades de la región, mediante la acción sustantiva. La lectura del entorno ha llevado a que se responda con el aporte de nuevas carreras en áreas tan sensibles como es el recurso hídrico donde la Universidad Nacional, por medio de su Sede, es un referente. Igualmente, está la lectura y el marco de la Agenda 2030, donde se lleva a tomar para aportar, entre otros temas, en las energías sostenibles. Durante todo el documento, además de ofrecer referencias teóricas se sustentará en datos estadísticos regionales, tanto socioeconómicos como de estadísticas institucionales.
This chapter reviews the contributions of the National University, through the Chorotega Regional Office, to higher education in Guanacaste. It starts from a historical vision of the development of the region and how higher education is contributing to those vulnerable sectors. There is a symbiotic relationship between university-regional society where one influences the other. In other words, the university has tried to respond to the needs of the region through substantive action. The reading of the environment has led to respond with the contribution of new careers in sensitive areas such as water resources where the National University, through its headquarters, is a reference. Likewise, there is the reading and the framework of Agenda 2030, where it is taken to contribute, among other issues, in sustainable energies. Throughout the document, in addition to offering theoretical references, it will be supported by regional statistical data, both socioeconomic and institutional statistics.
