Work as an edifying activity that allows the development of capabilities in human beings should encourage the creation and recreation of the knowledge and skills acquired by people who execute them, in the freedom of individual work when expressing the heritage of elements that accompany you when executing a specific job. In societies Today, under globalized contexts, the collective imagination about jobs prevails, jobs and professions that supposedly make significant contributions to today's world, giving main interest to the generation of economic capital, the search for social prestige, the exchange and commercialization of technological knowledge, above the various contributions carried out by different groups of workers, and that also makes possible the development of a society from different aspects, such as the human, social, cultural, artistic and environmental, that allows real involvement, where development is not thought and understood only from the commercial level. Thus, within the framework of this investigation, it is necessary to make visible the conditions of current work that the group of young art and culture workers face, as well as how to highlight the importance of the countries and societies of the world considering artists, art and their works as pillars that promote creativity, the approach to human sensitivity and stories, both personal and collective. The Institute of Social Studies in Population (IDESPO) of the National University is a unit academic research that provides support to public and private entities on various topics of contemporary Costa Rican reality with a population and social perspective. In his more than 45 years of experience has contributed to the understanding of social, economic, and cultural processes political and environmental, expanding the explanatory capacity of the national reality, while at the same time contributes to the development of various public policies at the population level. Considering the above, the IAT Program “Research, Art and Transmedia”, belonging to the Center for Research, Teaching and Artistic Extension (CIDEA) of the National University (UNA), makes a request for academic collaboration between units to prepare a survey about the working conditions experienced by young artists in Costa Rica, with the purpose of making a systematic and rigorous approach to the issue, which allows improving the monitoring the conditions for dignified/decent work for the young artist population, and providing to the implementation of the UNESCO Recommendation on the Status of the Artist. In this way, a survey will be carried out to determine key divergences between the definition of decent work and current working conditions for young artists in Costa Rica. The scope of the survey will be national, so that it allows contributing to the review and proposal of improvements to the National Cultural Rights Policy. In this sense, it is expected to achieve different products associated with this request, such as: a structured questionnaire, a database, partial research reports and a final report of the results on the perception of the consulted population, which aims to systematize the main findings of the study
