Microempresas y encadenamientos productivos con el sector turismo en los Cantones de Carillo, Santa Cruz, Nicoya y Nandayure, Provincia de Guanacaste, Costa Rica

Abstract

El presente artículo aborda los principales elementos caracterizadores de las MIPYMES en los cantones de Carrillo, Santa Cruz, Nicoya y Nandayure. Estudia los años de experiencia que tienen las MIPYMES de los cuatro sectores abordados, las habilidades lingüísticas de las mismas, centradas en el dominio o no del idioma inglés, y herramientas computacionales. Se concluye que estas habilidades no son suficientes y deben fortalecerse. La flexibilidad de los procesos productivos es un elemento que caracteriza a las microempresas, dado su tamaño y pueden responder más rápidamente que las empresas grandes, sin embargo, la capacitación por parte de la gerencia y hacia los colaboradores es una debilidad que se debe subsanar. Por último, los encadenamientos productivos entre las MIPYMES y el sector turístico son sumamente débiles, achacándose lo anterior a la falta de oportunidades de los hoteleros, a la desconfianza entre ellos, y a la preferencia a trabajar solos sin tener que depender de nadie.

The present article approaches the main elements that characterize MIPYMES in the cities of Carrillo, Santa Cruz, Nicoya and Nandayure. This article studies the years of experience that MIPYMES from the four cities have, their linguistic abilities, centered in the knowledge or lack of the English language, and computer tools. It is concluded that these abilities are not sufficient and must be strengthened. Flexibility of productive processes is an element that characterizes the micro-companies given their size and can respond more quickly than bigger companies; however, training from the management area and towards the collaborators, is a weakness that must be corrected. Finally, the productive links between the MIPYMES and the tourist sector are extremely weak, due to the lack of opportunities for hoteliers, the mistrust among them and their preference to work alone and not having to depend on anybody.
