Resumen
El modelo circular de producción ha sido objeto de atención creciente entre personas del ámbito político y empresarial, siendo una prioridad en tema de políticas públicas. Las personas emprendedoras han ido evolucionando y adaptándose a las necesidades de la sociedad, enfocándose en la urgencia de transitar hacia modelos de negocios más sociales y medioambientalmente sostenibles. El objetivo de este artículo es describir un emprendimiento de triple impacto en Costa Rica que contribuye con la sostenibilidad del planeta, implementando un modelo productivo que aprovecha los desechos generados por la producción y comercialización de piña, convirtiéndolos en productos de alto valor agregado para diferentes industrias. La principal técnica utilizada para la recolección de información es la entrevista a profundidad aplicada al fundador de Reutipiña-Bromé, Daniel Méndez Masis. Se sintetizan los principales alcances de este emprendimiento en relación con el modelo circular de producción y la alternativa que supone un emprendimiento de triple impacto.
The circular production model has been the subject of increasing attention among politicians and business people, and has become a priority in public policy. Entrepreneurs have been evolving and adapting to the needs of society, focusing on the urgency of moving towards more social and environmentally sustainable business models. The objective of this article is to describe a triple-impact venture in Costa Rica that contributes to the sustainability of the planet by implementing a productive model that takes advantage of the waste generated by pineapple production and marketing, converting it into high value-added products for different industries. The main technique used to collect information was an in-depth interview with the founder of Reutipiña-Bromé, Daniel Méndez Masis. The main scopes of this enterprise are synthesized in relation to the circular production model and the alternative of a triple impact enterprise.
