Resumen
En la década de 1840 el Estado liberal se había consolidado por el proceso de modernización económica, el despegue de la producción de café y su vínculo con el mercado mundial. El proceso de
acumulación de capital fue impulsado desde las estructuras de decisión del Estado por la clase política de la época, que, a su vez, ostentaba el poder económico. De tal manera, el patrón de desarrollo respondería a los ideales de modernización de una clase política educada capaz de aprovechar las oportunidades de desarrollo; esto se complementó con cambios políticos, económicos y sociales, expresados en la nueva Constitución Política de 1871.
In the 1840s the liberal state had been consolidated by the process of economic modernization, the takeoff of coffee production and its link with the world market. The process of capital accumulation was driven from the decision-making structures of the State by the political class of the time, which, in turn, held economic power. In such a way, the pattern of development would respond to the ideals of modernization of an educated political class capable of taking advantage of development opportunities; This was complemented with political, economic and social changes, expressed in the new Political Constitution of 1871.
