Resumen
En el siglo XX dos fueron las
enfermedades que atacaron la población
costarricense con mayor fuerza: la gripe
española (finales de la década de 1910)
y la poliomielitis (1954). Como lo indica
Paulina Malavassi, esta enfermedad causó
estragos, al punto de ser catalogada como
la “terrible enfermedad”.
Otro mal que afecta a la sociedad
costarricense desde hace años es el dengue;
In the 20th century there were two diseases that attacked the population Costa Rican with greater force: the flu Spanish (late 1910s) and polio (1954). As indicated Paulina Malavassi, this disease caused ravages, to the point of being classified as the "terrible disease". Another evil that affects society Costa Rican for years is dengue; disease that walks victorious in the country thanks to the carefree part of the population that is believed to be immune and commits another group of citizens, as is also the case today. Here The popular saying applies that people who do not know their history, repeat their mistakes.
