Resumen
La encuesta “Cultura política y participación electoral, enero 2026” fue coordinada por el equipo investigador del Programa Umbral Político, del Instituto de Estudios Sociales en Población (IDESPO), de la Universidad Nacional (UNA), y se ejecutó presencialmente en el laboratorio del Centro Tecnológico de Investigación Social (CETIS) del IDESPO. La recolección de datos se realizó vía telefónica entre los días 8 de enero y 15 de enero del 2026, a cargo de un equipo de estudiantes encuestadores que laboró en las estaciones de trabajo del laboratorio CETIS, con el apoyo de personal de supervisión técnica y académica del CETIS y del Programa Umbral Político. El objetivo de esta encuesta fue describir las percepciones de la población costarricense de dieciocho años o más, inscrita en el Padrón Electoral del Tribunal Supremo de Elecciones (TSE), sobre la cultura y participación electoral en Costa Rica, en el contexto de las elecciones nacionales de 2026.
The survey “Political Culture and Electoral Participation, January 2026” was coordinated by the research team of the Political Threshold Program of the Institute for Social Studies in Population (IDESPO) at the National University of Costa Rica (UNA), and was conducted on site at the laboratory of the Technological Center for Social Research (CETIS) of IDESPO. Data collection was carried out by telephone between January 8 and January 15, 2026, by a team of student interviewers who worked at the CETIS laboratory workstations, with the support of technical and academic supervisory staff from CETIS and the Political Threshold Program. The objective of this survey was to describe the perceptions of the Costa Rican population aged eighteen and over, registered in the Electoral Roll of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE), regarding political culture and electoral participation in Costa Rica, within the context of the 2026 national elections.
