Programa rectoría del nuevo siglo: Renovación con experiencia

Abstract

En los albores de un nuevo siglo, la Universidad Nacional enfrenta un reto fundamental: recuperar la experiencia acumulada durante las casi tres décadas de un existencia y renovarse para responder creativamente a las demandas de un entorno parcialmente diferente al de su origen. Para ello, la UNA necesita superar urgentemente debilidades, acentuadas durante los últimos años, y potenciar sus fortalezas. Este programa, que presentamos a su consideración, propone los lineamientos básicos para avanzar en el logro de ese objetivo. Este programa expresa un proyecto institucional colectivo que ha venido madurando durante mucho tiempo. Condensa la inteligencia y voluntad de cientos de universitarios que, de muy diversas formas y en un proceso altamente participativo, han aprobado sus ideas y sugerencias guiados por un anhelo común: potenciar la capacidad de la Universidad Nacional para que responda a los retos del nuevo siglo.

At the dawn of a new century, the National University faces a fundamental challenge: to recover the experience accumulated during the almost three decades of its existence and to renew itself in order to respond creatively to the demands of an environment that is partially different from the one in which it originated. To do so, UNA urgently needs to overcome its weaknesses, accentuated in recent years, and enhance its strengths. This program, which we present for your consideration, proposes the basic guidelines to advance in the achievement of this objective. This program expresses a collective institutional project that has been maturing for a long time. It condenses the intelligence and will of hundreds of university students who, in very diverse ways and in a highly participatory process, have approved their ideas and suggestions guided by a common desire: to strengthen the capacity of the National University to respond to the challenges of the new century.
