Resumen
Durante el 2020-2021 Costa Rica ha sufrido una crisis fiscal que ha estado articulada con la reestructuración del Estado y la economía, y para la que ha ejecutado acciones que han tenido
como punto de partida la pandemia. La covid tiene distintas implicaciones en la economía, la
política y la sociedad. Se suma a ello la caída en el empleo, la baja en los ingresos y otras
dificultades que llevan al empobrecimiento relativo de importantes sectores. Paralelo a esto, la contracción económica llevó a una relativa paralización en el ámbito internacional, regional y nacional. Sin embargo, existen sectores económicos que obtienen beneficios con la pandemia: la industria farmacéutica, la industria médica, una parte de la producción agroindustrial y el sector financiero.
During 2020-2021 Costa Rica has suffered a fiscal crisis that has been articulated with the restructuring of the State and the economy, and for which it has carried out actions that have had the pandemic as a starting point. Covid has different implications for the economy, politics and society. Added to this is the drop in employment, the drop in income and other difficulties that lead to the relative impoverishment of important sectors. Parallel to this, the economic contraction led to a relative paralysis at the international, regional and national levels. However, there are economic sectors that benefit from the pandemic: the pharmaceutical industry, the medical industry, a part of the agro-industrial production and the financial sector.
