Paragonimiasis: Análisis

Abstract

Cápsula divulgativa producida en el marco de CONARE Investiga en la que María José Zúñiga Moya, investigadora del Laboratorio de Zoonosis y Entomología de la Escuela de Medicina Veterinaria de la Universidad Nacional (UNA), comparte avances y aportes de investigación vinculados a la paragonimiasis. Desde su trabajo académico y su formación doctoral en esta temática, la investigadora destaca la relevancia de fortalecer el conocimiento científico y las herramientas para la detección y el estudio de esta zoonosis alimentaria, así como la importancia de la investigación veterinaria para apoyar la vigilancia y la prevención de enfermedades tropicales desatendidas en Costa Rica. El video resalta el enfoque Una Salud, integrando salud humana, animal y ambiental, y la articulación interuniversitaria para generar evidencia útil para el país.An educational video produced as part of the CONARE Investiga initiative, in which María José Zúñiga Moya, a researcher at the Zoonoses and Entomology Laboratory of the School of Veterinary Medicine at the National University (UNA), shares research advances and findings related to paragonimiasis. Drawing on her academic work and doctoral training in this field, the researcher highlights the importance of strengthening scientific knowledge and tools for the detection and study of this foodborne zoonosis, as well as the role of veterinary research in supporting the surveillance and prevention of neglected tropical diseases in Costa Rica. The video highlights the One Health approach, which integrates human, animal, and environmental health, as well as inter-university collaboration to generate useful evidence for the country.
